The Google algorithm revolution is actually an opportunity for pioneers

A story, criticism, and a call to action. Google’s best years are behind it. The revolution of Google’s greedy algorithms is essentially an opportunity for pioneers such as DuckDuckGO and similar companies.

For many years, I have been creating content that serves people online for free and helps them without unnecessary clicking: free forms, real information, historical articles, algorithm disclosures, statistics, columns, laughter, and criticism, of course.

I didn’t sell fear, I didn’t mislead, I didn’t put up paywalls. I am a blogger, de facto. Without evidence, I cannot confirm a hypothesis.

What did I get in return?

Crumbs of algorithms.

Google pushed me into the background with new algorithms, as if the truth were not worth the space.

Should I be grateful for that?

No.

Google and its aggressiveness

Google’s best years are over, or at least coming to an end. Algorithms are becoming aggressive, punitive, dictatorial, even deceitful, and above all commercial. Real content is being pushed into the background, while superficiality and deception are gaining ground.

Facebook as a visionary example

Many years ago, I predicted that Facebook would lose its power. Today, it turns out that I was right, as with every prediction, unfortunately – and it has become FaceBog, my ass.

Just another proof that a visionary view is not an illusion, but reality.

AI as a new opportunity

AI knows how to appreciate content that has weight. It understands context, it understands truth, it understands people. In an era when search engines throw out crumbs, AI is the one that can recognize bread, but only if it is not abused by human greed.

I do not consider my work to be crumbs.

My work is kosher bread that people eat when they search for the information they are really looking for. No approximations! No derivatives! And if that means biting the hand that feeds me, then so be it, because I am not grateful for the crumbs of algorithms. But I will be grateful to people who understand that truth and authorship mean something.
